John 12:12-13 the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!", "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord", "Blessed is the King of Israel!"
Words, if I have read them a million times before now, have not stood out to me like they did today.
John 12:19 so the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!"
Over two thousand years ago because the multitudes were praising Jesus the Pharisees viewed Him as a threat. Today the Pharisees would see the world's focus on "the virus" and perhaps Jesus would not be such a threat for the Pharisees.
If Jesus rode through town this Palm Sunday how many would notice? How many would be celebrating?
But today my heart is not focused on the world's response to Jesus. Not exactly anyway.
It is focused on my own.
If I turn my focus to Jesus. If I focus on my relationship with Jesus. Focus on my conversation with Jesus. Listen to where Jesus wants me to go, to what Jesus is calling me to do..... then Jesus would be caring for me perfectly spiritually, mentally and physically. And if I answered His call Jesus would also be caring for those He called me to serve in His name.
And if each person did the same Christ would be meeting the needs of each person, perfectly. In each community, county, state, and country.
This surely must be what heaven on earth would look like.
And then when Jesus comes to town oh what a crowd would greet Him!
